The Demensians were great, reat warriors, and had learnt the art of summoning upon the spirits of the ancient gods for battle. Maybe they were going to tech this skill.

*On Planet Karuu*
Caesura's heart began to beat faster as she neared the front of the queue. It was impossible to travel anywhere far in the city without having to pass through a check point station. She clutched her fake identity, and kept reassuring herself that it was foolproof. The guards on duty probably couldnt even read anyway. There was a cry from near the front of the queue,
"Hey I was allowed to pass yesterday!!" challenged a middle-aged black human woman after the guard had refused to let her through.
"Sorry well today you are not...." growled the guard, "Now scram!!"
"But my family are on the other side of this station!" pleaded the woman.
"I will not repeat myself, ma'am"
"I cannot believe this!!" said the woman placing her arms on her hips.
"Ma'am I must ask you to leave"
"This is an infringement of my personal liberties! Wait till my lawy-" The heavy trucheon came down on her head with an excruciating bone crunching noise. The woman collapsed. The guard merely turned to the next person in the line.
"How can I help you?"
Caesura tried to surpress herself.
But she could not let this one go, not this time.
"How dare you?" the guard looked up at the young woman at the end of the queue. "How dare you!! HOW DARE YOU??? HOW DARE YOU TREAT ANOTHER PERSON LIKE THAT!!" Caesura was now shouting at the guard and the other people in the queue moved away from her and the guards, scared. "HOW CAN YOU!!"
The guard smiled "I don't know what you mean... This is no person," he said as he kicked the unconcious body at his feet, "This is just a annoyance, not even worth livin-"
The guard could not complete his sentence because of the knife that had been thrown right into his heart.
The whole scene stopped. Several onlookers screamed. Opposing a guard of Devero was insane, killing one was a deathwish.
The other guard looked from his comrade to Caesura, then ripped the dagger out the dead man's chest. He lunged at Caesura waving both a deadly mace and Caesura's dagger already black with blood.

The guard attacking Caesura then fell, both the weapons clattering on the floor. The attacker was a young woman with fierce determination, sparks crackling from her hand.
"Come with me if you want to live."

Caesura looked at the woman with surprise. She had never met anyone else who would dare to kill a guard of Devero. She had never seen anyone so beautiful either...
Hearing shouting of men and barks from canine animals coming from a nearby street, others had evidently heard the news via the physclink the guards had implanted into their brains. Realising she was dead meat if she stuck around much longer, Caesura nodded to the woman and followed her into a nearby alleyway, picking up her lucky dagger on the way past.

*5 months later*
Caesura hadn't seen a friend for a few weeks now, everyday it got worse and worse, the curfew got ealier and earlier and the violence got worse and worse. She lived under the pseudonym of Halande Moore, a poor weaver. There was a raid on the restitance's hideout 4 months ago where many of the resistance were killed. Caesura and a dozen other fighters managed to escape. Caesura and two other men who had made their way far from the presedential sector and the hububb of the violence to a quiter more deprived area in the outskirts and furtherest reaches of the planet Karuu and had waged a local war to rid the nearby streets of any violence. A few weeks after that the two men disappered mysteriously and again Caesura was left alone.
Until one day a dying old woman turned up at her house and gave her a very important message. Once again Caesura had to take matters into her own hands.
