My vote goes to Mace. Even after reading the book, it still seemed as if Palpatine had been owned by Vaapad.

I dont know. Palpatine WAS a VERY great lightsaber duelist. When he was reborn with all his traits into a different person and fought Luke they were fighting so fast Leia couldnt see what was going on. Nevertheless, it will be a good fight, but Emperor Palpatine would come out ahaid in the end.

Since when? Palpy was a GREAT fighter. He could have beaten Mace in the movie but he wanted Anakin to give into his hatred and do it. Have you read the books where Palpy was reborn and fought Luke?

I meant he wasn't as great as mace.
And Mace could kill palp any day. Dumb books... just watch the movie, he had palp, THEN anakin showed up so palpy was trying to do that.
Here's how Star Wars Knowledge goes: (IMO)
FIRST AND ALWAYS CORRECT: Movies. Second and sometimes correct: Books. Tied for Second: Comic Books Third: Games/RPG books.

Palpy let Mace beat him. He felt Anakin on his way over there. Didnt you see how he suddenly had the energy to zap Mace after being "beaten" He was holding back cause he wanted to turn Anakin. And it worked.

Even after reading the novel, I'd have to say that Palpatine's initial intentions were to dispose of Mace as quickly as possible, but after Mace worked him, he took advantage of Anakin's emotions and was able to defeat Mace.
In the book, it goes on about how Yoda was too arrogant, keeping to old tradition rather than focusing on developing new techniques and what not in the force, with his Jedi Order.
The thing that seperates Mace from Yoda (beside being a better lightsaber duelist), is that Mace had developed a new and deadly technique...Vaapad.
Palps knew nothing of Vaapad, and therefor did not have a lifetime to prepare for Mace, as he did for Yoda.
So, I think it's pretty reasonable to say that Mace stomped Palp's monkey-ass, but that's just me.

One day I'm going to write a fucking book about Mace Windu not dying and being taken in by the mysterious Gabba Nabba Du's that live on the bottom floor of Coruscant. They rebuild him to his prime form and he hunts down Palpatine but it turns out Palpatine was thrown off of the fuggin' Core shit so he fucks every girl in the universe and then clones Palpatine into his perfect self and then they duel and Mace cuts all his limbs off, shits on him, and then throws him into a pit of lava.
And that's canon.

We're talking the Emperor here.... one of the greatest Sith in SW history.
My vote to him.

Palpy would have pwned the shit outta Mace if he tried. He felt Anakin coming so he held back. Do you think Palpy eould be able to turn Anakin if he saw Palpy beating the shit outta Mace? No. He made it look like Mace was beating his to make Anakin turn.
