I felt the same way, but then I realized how shocked I would be if I had an army backing me up, and I would NEVER expect them to shoot me, and then they did. Jedi that were aware of the turn didn't go down so easily. |

I just watched Return of the Sith, and I realized that if Mace had inteded to kill off Palpatine, he could have. Before Anakin got there, Palpatine wasn't holding back so that Anakin could switch over to the Darkside, he was actually fighting for his life. Mace had disarmed him, and if Mace wanted to, could have beheaded him.
