They depart the pokemart and Lani is greeted by his rival.

*Lani's rival, Caicos, appears from the pokecentre, followed by his prized Drowzee and a pair of girls. Caicos was a bully at Lani's school and was the long term rival of Lani about anything pokemon. Lani has despised Caicos ever since he humiliated him in front of his whole class over a dare about catching a weedle, 5 years ago. *

Caicos; "Look what the skitty dragged in...... Lani, Lani, Lani....."

*Drowzee and Abra eye each other suspiciously*

Lani "So.... you've become a trainer aswell...."

Caicos "Yeah and I'll be a much better one than you!!! I've already got 6 Pokemon!! *He shows a belt filled with Pokeballs* You've only got 2 ha!!!!! You still too much of a crybaby to catch some?"

Lani "Hey that was 5 years ago!!! I am a great trainer if you ask me!"

Caicos "Yeah but we weren't asking you!" *The girls giggle and and look adirmingly at Caicos*

Lani "I'll show you!!! I challenge you pokemon battle!!"

Caicos "I'll easily beat you! Don't worry I'll go easy!"

Lani "Alright your best Pokemon against mine!!!"

[Paj Meen Ah]

Axel interuppts.

"Just dont make this into a scene..."

[No Wow]

Lani *Aside to the group* "Its alright I've got this under control"

Caicos; "I'm using my Drowsee, I see you've got only a weak Abra or a weaker Venonat, which do you use?"

Lani, *Thinking* "Pshycic pokemon are weak to Poison"

"I'll use my Venonat"

What attacks does Drowsee have?

He could have a secret trick up his metaphorical sleeve!

Caicos, "Drowsee, put it to sleep!"
Drowsee uses Hypnosis.
Lani, "Venonat Don't look into its eyes!!"
Venonat is not trained enough to understand and falls asleep.

Caicos,"Yes!!! Now beat it to the ground!!"
Drowsee uses Pound, 4 hp left
Venonat is asleep

Drowsee uses Pound, 1 hp left
Lani, "Venonat!! Wake up!!!!"
Venonat wakes up, Venonat uses tackle. Its super-effective!! 7 hp left

Drowsee uses Pound, Venonat dodges.
Venonat uses Tackle, 3 hp left

Caicos, "Ok. No more messing around Drowsee!!"
Drowsee uses Pound, Venonat Dodges
Venonat uses Tackle, Drowsee dodges

Drowsee uses Pound, 0 hp left

Caicos Wins!!!

Caicos,"And that is what amazing is!"

Lani, "I lost........How?"

Caicos, "Maybe you'll win next time, or (more probably) you'll lose again!!!"

Lani grits his teeth

Caicos, "Anyway, I'll smell you losebags later!"

Caicos walks off, followed by the pair of hysterical girls.

Lani, "Venonat you did well, lets get you to the Pokecentre."

Venonat receives 50 EXP for participating in a battle.

I thought Abra had full HP?

Unlike the games, its not allowed, i'm sorry if I never clarified it.

And for everyone's information, you may not play trainer battles. I will play the opponent. It will make things not quite as smooth, but it will void contrversy and it may even give you a chance of winning depending on the character's attitude and how i apply it to the moves he uses.

The four returned to the pokecenter to heal Lani's Venonat. ReZoko said he had to leave and go somewhere. At the pokecenter, they hear of a legend of a giant Vileplume the area, and Axel seems exceptionally excited. He thinks if he could sketch this pokemon, he might get some recognition in the art community, not a laughingstock thanks to his rival...

What do we do about the Vileplume? Find it or something else?

"I think we should find it" Axel blurts out.

He diodnt tell the rest of the group that he knew of this legend before this, and was planning to attempt to find it anyway.

*He remebers when he and his rival, Dixie, were taking part in an important sketching lesson, in preparation for the exam. It was an outdoors, poke hunt, where the best sketch of the rarest pokemon won a prize.

Axel managed to find a magnificent Ponyta grazing just outside Pallet town, and began to sketch. When Dixie saw him and the beautiful ponyta, she attacked it brutally with her Whismur, forcing Axel to abandon his sketching to take it to a pokemon centre.

He failed his exam, and was kicked out of the course becuase of Dixies jealousy of his artistic skills. And no-one believed that the perfect Dixie Diamond could do such an awful thing.

Axel decided from then on to protect pokemon from those who would be cruel and unkind towards them, while continuing his sketching journey.*
