Half of them take it a tad too seriously though. I agree. the sentiment that I receive the most over there is the one of "This is a Heroclix site. If you don't play anymore or want to discuss anything else, then leave." Well, half of the members that post regularly there haven't played Clix in months or even years. Personally, I haven't played the game in almost eight months (however, I think the Orgins is going to bring me back). We all still show up on Realms because of the community aspect of the site, not content itself. That is definitely an aspect that has been downright ignored since the beginning of HCR, or at least for the time that I've been there.
*Gets up on soapbox*
I feel the same way. I think thats part of the reason I was initially upset over losing Another Realm's post count. Before I became a mod, I posted about 2% about Heroclix discussion and 98% about other things.
How many other fan forum's have an Off-Topic area? 99% of them. How many of disregard the post count in such areas? Realms is the only I know of.
I don't care how many people say that its HEROCLIX realms and it should be just about HeroClix. I say bull and I will say bull to their faces. Back before I became a mod, K-Ness made a post in the HomoClixuals, which came across to me that TYyphon bascially didn't give a shit about people who posted in Another Realm or the Clan areas. That was what set off my Rep signature. It basically said "Show them that every post counts. If you like what I have to say, then leave positive rep" Not that it really made a difference, I just wanted to show my objective in a constructive way, that didn't get me Warning Points.
As much as I love Realms and the people there, if they got rid of Another Realm & the Player groups completely, I would not be there, but maybe once a week to check out some Clix stuff. The extended family that I've grown there is what keeps me there. it wouldn't have that pull if it was just a bunch of Ohoni's and Brazil's talking about clix 24/7.
*Steps off of soapbox*
Whew, that feels good to get off of my chest. It weighed almost as much as a breast.

Whew, that feels good to get off of my chest. It weighed almost as much as a breast. I still don't care that they don't count AR/Group Discussion as posts. I'd hate to think of what my post count actually is. If every post counted towards it, then it would remind me more of just how much time I have wasted there over the years. However, it does piss me off because they feel like those who post in those areas don't matter. There's been many, many posts (from more than one source) that have made me, personally, feel like complete shit, and that I'm wholly unwanted on the board. I get pissed, and storm out, but I end up going back within a few weeks. For example, a few weeks ago, I had a mod tell me (both through the REP system, and on a thread) that I was the bottom rung of HCR. I'm pretty sure that he was joking, but I really was offended by the remark. I knew that I had no choice but to grin and bear, as I knew no other mods would stand me for me, and I knew damn well that Typhoon wouldn't help me either, as I'm the emibodiment of everything that's wrong with the site. Basically, I know that I have two choices: ignore it or leave. I guess I choose to ignore it...

If all that you post in is another realm, you can go to other sites and discuss the same topics. If however you post to both to the game sections and AR, no matter what the ratio is, I have zero problem with it.
I do have a problem with rep/karma/post count/etc. Who the smeg cares how many posts you have made? You can post a ton of messages, without e..e...EVER saying anything worth reading.

I could really give a shit about post count/REP/Karma, but the fact that the make the distinction that certain posts count, and some don't. To me, it's saying that the forums that don't add to your post count, don't matter, and that those that do are, in some way, better than those that don't.

Everyone said there was too much spamming in the AR section (hell, me, ReZ, and Ven used to have like 600 posts a day combined... lol, good times), but if no one gives a shit about post count, then why do the Mods care that people are getting high post counts? If high post counts don't hurt anybody, then why remove it? As well, the Mods claimed that it was clogging up the forums.... if they don't care about AR, who cares how clogged it is? And besdies, it's AR and shouldn't be viewed as seriously, like no one should get mad if 100 new threads pop up every 10 minutes. It's actually part of the AR experience to post on many threads one after the other, IMO. The liveliness of the forum made it what it is.

In the end, does any of it really matter? Or is it all just shadows on a wall?
Sorry you had to see that...

Its that type of thing that pissed me off when they implemented the "Post Count-down" (See? I made a funny!)
Who the hell has the right to say that Brazil or Ohoni or Hair10's posts matter more than mine because I frequent Another Realm and I don't talk about HeroClix that much? The board is a COMMUNITY, you should not discriminate a part of the community because they don't fit your mastermold.

Not really, but thats probably because they've grown with me over the years.
I wouldn't trade them for anything, well, except a more shapely pair, but thats all.
