*was temporarily confused*
Yeah, it's the access. Yeah crazie people will still do crazy things that will hurt or kill others, but it'd be lot less people if you couldnt go to the gun shop.

If you were crazy, then you would care if you were breaking the law by having a gun. So, even if guns were illegal, then ONLY THE CRAZY PEOPLE WOULD HAVE GUNS!!!! I know I've said this about a half dozen times now, but you seem to be missing it.
The only way that guns would stop being a problem would be if you destroyed all of the guns in the world. That would never work because of two reasons: 1) it would be wholly infeasible and 2) it would totally go against the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

And even if it were feasible to destroy all the guns, crazies will find another way to kill people if they want to badly enough.

It feels like the UK is less dangerous, cos noone has guns.
The police don't carry guns either, so therefore thugs don't really need guns either.

Yeah the UK is an example.
Like a gazillion less gun crime, becuase you cant get them in the UK. Except my school which is so up its own ass. (They have a firing range undergorund- which they just happen to forget to mention in the prospectus I notice)
It's so hypocritical. The Headmaster was talking to us about Guns in the US, laws etc. And went on about how children could have acces to guns..
Well, guess what? Theres fucking rifles in your basement!
[/Rant over]
I forgot about the Constitution or whatever, amendment.
Still, the UK got over it.

When I was over in Europe this past summer, the big thing they told us to worry about was pick pocketing and petty theft. That's not really anything I've had to worry about pretty much anywhere in the US. Every where you go there's some sort of crime.

Yeah.. But thats like Barcelona and Paris. Scotland is actually one of the safest places anywhere. Let's see...I was in Heathrow International Airport (which should be its own country), then Zurich, then Strausberg, went all over the place in Germany (including Cologne and Heidelberg), ended in Amsterdam. My family had a blast. Me, eh, not so much. It was a Rhine Cruise. A lot of drinking (which isn't something I do) and very touristy, y'know?

The guns in our school are so bad that if you actually went on a killing rampage you would only be able to fire one shot before the police arrived. And you can get guns in the UK really easily, but realistically why would you? As soon as you carry a firearm you are liable to be arrested. Theres no need really, unless your in a crazy gang war in Manchester.

And you guys are complaing about the US being unsafe with guns. At my High School, if you got caught with so much as a pocket knife, the cops would be on your ass faster than you could say, "I have a knife!"

I remember stories about kids getting suspended for ten days because they had a pocketknife on them and forgot about it. The US isn't nearly as unsafe as many people think. I blame the media.

I took one of those carving scalpels into school once, but it was actually for Art.

Mine, too. I remember stories about kids getting suspended for ten days because they had a pocketknife on them and forgot about it. A couple of years ago I went into court for jury duty and forgot I had a small pocketknife on my keyring. Being an adult though, all I had to do was go put in in my car .

There was one day that I forgot that I left my pocketknife in my backpack after going camping over the weekend.
I was terrified.

One time I found a pocket knife in my backpack, and I had no idea where it came from or how long it had been in there. I quickly tucked it deep in a corner for the rest of the day and hoped no authority figure found it. Then I removed it when I got home.
