Same as on HCR.....
I know we've seen so many Caps, but here's how I like him in today's game.
ROOKIE
Captain America
Point Value: 94
Range: 4 //
Team: S.H.I.E.L.D.
Speed Mode: Single-Based Boot
|08 08 08 07 07 06 06 06 KO KO KO KO
|10 09 09 08 08 07 07 08 KO KO KO KO
|16 17 16 16 15 14 14 15 KO KO KO KO
|03 02 02 02 02 02 02 02 KO KO KO KO
--I agree with Concherto about the S.H.I.E.L.D. TA for the Rookie. I basically made this the WWII version as I see it. No Leadership on the Rookie, because that's not what I see him doing a lot of. Instead, he comes straight into battle, to that end, he starts with Charge and Exploit Weakness with a pretty good 10 AV. He continues to hit where it hurts, sporting a consistent attack value and more EW until it turns into Close Combat Expert. His speed value is also fair, in my opinion. He's pretty fast for a human. He also has Smoke Cloud for when he throws some greandes to distract the enemy, etc. He ends the dial with Outwit and Charge to go out swinging.
In closing, I tried to make him less of the battlefield tactician we know him as, and more of a young, more inexperienced soldier, and one that excels at mostly fighting, since I believe in the beginning, he was mostly brought in to kick rear.
EXPERIENCED
Captain America
Point Value: 118
Range: 6 //
Team: Avengers
Speed Mode: Single-Based Boot
|09 08 08 08 07 07 06 06 06 KO KO KO
|11 10 09 09 08 07 07 08 09 KO KO KO
|18 17 16 16 15 17 16 14 14 KO KO KO
|03 02 02 02 02 02 02 02 03 KO KO KO
--Now, here is the Captain America leading the Avengers. He is now more of a leader and a battlefield general. To that end, his dial is less focused on hitting the opponents himself, and more based upon commanding the team and helping them out.
He starts with Running Shot to quickly get into battle, Incapacitate to slow down any foes who aren't wary, Willpower to get it done twice as fast, and Leadership. He then gains Perplex for a few clicks, and some Leap/Climb, along with Impervious/Combat Reflexes. Finally, when the battle starts going crazy, he regains Charge, along with Defend, since at this point, he's helping his team be safe, and Exploit Weakness, where he becomes more focused on combat. His last two clicks see him gain Flurry, an attack spike, Willpower to keep fighting to the end is here, and Outwit with a damage spike for the last click. Immensely featable, he should lead the Avengers perfectly.
VETERAN
Captain America
Point Value: 130
Range: 6 ///
Team: Spider-Man Ally
Speed Mode: Single-Based Boot
|09 09 08 08 07 07 07 06 06 KO KO KO
|11 10 10 09 08 07 07 08 09 KO KO KO
|18 17 16 16 16 16 15 14 15 KO KO KO
|03 03 02 02 02 02 02 02 03 KO KO KO
--Once again, Concherto makes a good case for the Veteran having the Spider-man Ally TA, since Cap is not just an Avengers player. For the Veteran Captain America, I tried to combine the combat-first prowess of my Rookie Captain America with the tactical ability of the Experienced. The result is an interesting (IMO) mish-mash of a self-sufficient fighter that can also capably guide a team. Starting with the same click as the Experienced, the Veteran than gains a click of PC to show that at this point, he is so brilliant that he can make decisions that alter the outcome of the battle, similar to E Legacy Batman. He then keeps good numbers, gains Exploit Weakness and a click of Close Combat Expert. He regains Incapicitate and Charge, along with Perplex. He ends strong with Outwit, Flurry. Willpower, and another 3 damage click.
In closing, I have tried to make Cap three different ways to represent how he's been at different points. I believe all three are quite playable.
Use the Rookie for a good, solid attack piece. His role is efficiently take out the enemy.
The Experienced is ideal as a combat leader. With tons of Perplex/Outwit, he is very able at aiding his team.
The Veteran is the mixture: he is competent in combat and as a leader. He is self-sufficient and also a leader.
Thanks for reading!
