Well..DC makes there heroes unbeatable..basically. If the writer decides they die, they die. They are too powerful. For example, how has batman not died yet??? He was invaded by the entire IJL and defeated them all with like one punch.
The justice League is too powerful. Why not just eradicate all the major threats and live in peace? They could probably find some way to do that by traveling to earth 4/post-hour cris 678.
