Fair enough points. And I've experienced similar things. Like Rock extending ym ban because he was sick and tired of getting instant messgaes from me, which he found annoying. AIM, not Realms. That really bugged me. So yea, I get what you mean. You just said that you never AIMed him...... Doc....  |

Hey Doc - Thawmus had some pretty good advice for you, so I am not gonna add a whole lot to it. As he mentioned, in the thread to the Mafia mods I stated that I was not surprised that this sort of thing had happened. This does not mean that I don't think that you aren't a likable person, just that you have had lapses in judgement - something of which we are all guilty from time to time. I hope that you can learn from the situation and move on.
Here is what I have learned, both from my own experience and from the ones had by folks such as ReZ and ro-gan: you can't fight city hall over at HCR. For a while, I was very interested in giving back to the Realms, in becoming more involved, even considering asking how to become a moderator and help out with running the site (mostly because I think it can be a great place and I have met truly excellent individuals through it.) When I asked Rock about it, I found out that it's basically run as the AZS private online club. That pretty much sealed it for me. I have had my differences with AZS in the past and have seen the mods' abuse of power. Therefore, I want no part of it. I have chosen to go on neutral ground and to keep to myself on certain topics. (Which is why I like Rule 3 - at least I can come here, blast Mark Tuttle, and not have to worry about getting crucified by the WK kool-aid drinkers.)
I see some of the HCR mods from time to time, mostly at WWE, am fine with being cordial with them, and I leave them to their own devices. However, I don't mind saying that they like riding on their high horses over at HCR, and you'll never win because, no matter what, they have the permaban power over you. They're the ones who'll wind up smelling like roses, and you'll never get the chance to fight back. It's not worth it. (And I agree with Luke that the only one who I can say I have never seen abuse her power is Shel. Even Bill, who can be a good guy, can get into a snit and then watch out because you'll learn the hard way not to say BOO - much less make up a mocking rhyme about him, which has gotten people other than you banned by him.) So that is the status quo, and if you want a chance to get back to posting at HCR, just be aware and keep it in mind. Be wise.
Anyhow, here's hoping that time flies and we get to see you come back. You're one of the more colorful characters over at HCR - even if you do manage to get me killed in Mafia games, more often than not. Peace out.

What the hell, couldn't resist..... I do not dislike you personally Doc Remember this, folks, as you read on.... Do you realize that you just lied? You just straight up lied to the guy that you banned. Now I have to ask myself: "Self, if he's lying to Doc's face, and Doc's the guy he banned, how much truth are we hearing???" Well, since you just lied to Doc's face, I hope you'll understand if I don't take your word for it. The same way the rest of us do. Grow the hell up, call him out on it, and move on. Or is that only for regular HCR members? Do mods get to ban people that make fun of them, if they have REAL LIFE friends there? I'm curious as to where that's in the FAQ, or forum rules. I'm 99% certain that it isn't, but hell, I could be wrong. See, this is where you make it personal. You just admitted, word for word, that this was a personal vendetta. Which means you just lied twice, AND you lied to the rest of us on HCR about the incident, to try and make yourself look better, and Doc look worse. But the rest of us got to listen to you slander Doc all over a thread dedicated to informing Mafia mods that he was banned. WE have to deal with stupid petty garbage like that, but you don't? At what point does your power have a check, and where is the balance? You will.  I'm not of the belief that Doc was in the right. But YOU exaggerated the issue. YOU took the opportunity to slander him, after he was gone. And YOU lied to a lot of people in a MAFIA thread. We make a habit out of reading bullshit in that forum, and recognizing it immediately. And a lot of us picked up on your posts right away. You came in there defending everything you did, when nobody had even accused you of #######. That's Bullshit tell #1. And it never fails. Doc just told you, right here, that he never even AIMed you. I find it hard to believe that he'd lie when he's....well....talking to YOU. I used to have way more respect for you, Rock, but you did wrong in exaggerating this issue like this. And you've proven to me, and other people viewing this thread, that you are a liar. |

Seriously.... you guys are soo right about that shit. Charles, you certainly got the words of wisdom, but Ro/skeevs, you guys certainly know how to cut past the wall of bullshit that some of those Mods put up.
Hell, I even kinda like the repartee between Thawmus and Doc..... you both got some nice points to make.
And I concur with any post advocating for Kit as the Admin. Let's face it.... she's not only the most reasonable and friendly Mod, but also being a woman, she is not susceptible to falling prey to what all the other Mods seem to have trouble with: separating their online life with their personal worries about their dick size.
Man, I have sure missed a lot in my absence.

I've been banned from HCR for over a year now. If I got unbanned right now and Aaron was no longer the Admin and I decided to go back there because Aaron is gone the same bullshit would still reign.
I'd see the flame wars, the negativity, the chicken littles, the "my REP-penis is bigger than yours" people, etc. It would be like I never left. |
