Now that reminds me of a story:
Last weekend, I was walking around Hasting's, and I overheard two guys talking. I quickly gathered that they were both high school senior getting ready to take the ACT. One was bragging to the other about his great score. Then, I heard it: "Yeah, I went in, took the test with no studying at all, and got a 23!" A 23??!! I couldn't not believe just how damn proud of his 23 he was... I mean, 23 is average at best. Maybe if it was a 32, then I would understand why he was so proud. And then, it got worse. His buddy looked over at him, and said, "I wouldn't let my sister hear you say that because she studied for the ACT like crazy, and she only got a 19."
While I was driving home, it occured to me: these fucksticks will, more than likely, be attending the college where I work, and I'm going to have to deal with them next semester. These kids are just like all of the other kids that come here and have no idea how to read a map, billing statement, or even a bus schedule. You know, the type of kid that I want to strangle the moment they walk on campus.

Which reminds me of a story.
It was a while after I had taken the SAT (the new test). In fact, it may have been a year or so after, because it may have been after one of my in-laws took the test. In any case, my sister's father-in-law calls up. The only reason he ever calls is to look for my dad to go out bar crawlin'.
Now, much to my annoyance, my parents have the tendency to brag about my achievements and parade me around like some sort of new car. So, this guy calls up and says, "Hey, I heard you're smart. What did you get on the SATs?"
"2030."
"Only 2030? What's the matter, you didn't study?" he said in mock incredulity.
"Actually, no I didn't," I responded honestly.
There was a stunned silence on the other end of the line. This is the first time I have EVER witnessed this man being made speechless.
"...Uhh...is your father there?"
(Anticlimactic, except that my dad doesn't like going bar hopping with this guy much, so he frequently has me invent some excuse to where he is.)

Still 2030 is impressive, no matter how you are. SATs aren't a requirement for the school I go to, so I never took them. Pretty sure that I wouldn't come close to that though...
