Saturday was a great day (I'm slow to post...)
I had Tae Kwon Do in the morning, and afterwards, I had a grad party to go to. My quartet sang at the party, and we basically rocked socks off. Hung around for a couple of hours, and After the party, I went to see the student edition of Rent for a 2nd time: it was spectacular. Then I went to a birthday party of my best friends, and we watched Zombie flicks and ate the best waffles ever made.
Woohoo!

We tried to enjoy it. Hell, it was on our Netflix account for over 3 weeks before it finally became available to be sent to us. We figured with that long of a waiting list it must be good.
But, sadly, the discrepencies just screamed at us and made the movie unenjoyable. We found ourselves sitting there making fun of it and putting it down.
Like I said earlier:
We even watched nearly all of the DVD Extras hoping it would explain the errors we saw. All that did was prove the designers/writers/producers had no idea what they were doing besides just making a mindless monster movie rip-off. I guess what I was trying to say is that there are some movies that you can tell from the trailers are not to be taken seriously. I think that Cloverfield definitely lands in this category. I knew that it would just be an entertaining movie without a lot of plot and wouldn't be much of a cinematic achievement. Knowing this, I went into the movie and enjoyed it. Same can be said for Snakes on a Plane...

Same can be said for Snakes on a Plane... J.J. Abrams of Lost fame made Cloverfield. I went into it thinking it would be on par with Lost. Especially after the only thing you saw in the trailers before it even came out was allusions to something mysterious going on that could knock the head off the Statue Of Liberty.
I had high expectations for this movie and was totally let down after waiting weeks for it finally to get to me from Netflix.
As for Snakes On A Plane:
I liked it a lot. Even more so than I thought I would. Mainly, because they made the plot believable to me. What happened in that movie can happen, realistically... with the right amount of money to bribe that many people to set up a sitrep like that.

I tried watching Lost back when it first came out, but got bored three episodes in when nothing happened for three hours.
As for Cloverfield, I really wish that they didn't show the monster on-screen any more than what was seen during the trailers. That's the only real gripe I have against the movie.

But LOST is shit (usually) I wonder if this could be an age-gap thing?
My and Annie's tastes in movies/TV really seems to differ from the younger generation.
Her and I grew up on shows like Cliffhanger where plots and such were sometimes never resolved until a year later. I also grew up reading Chris Claremont's books where his plots weren't resolved until years later-- if at all!
The younger people nowadays seem to have everything they read or watch tied up rather quickly. TV plots are tied up nice and neat within the half hour/hour episode a high percent of the time. And, comic book plotlines are resolved in a span of 4-6 issues [the Trade Paperback Rule].
Our "Get-It-Now-Society" has spoiled people and ruined any chance they might have towards enjoying long, drawn out plots/stories.
Just an opinion and observation. Care to discuss/debate?

How was my day? Fucking shite. I found out the results of the repercussions of posting that video of my work quiz night. ;
Im not sacked! Oh wait, that probably would have been better.
My pay rise or pay amount is not getting reveiwed for a year, so my pay rise of £300 this year for my highest number of called answers each month for nearly 2 years running, excellent adherance and attendance and good quality including a perfect call is worth £300 over 2 years which is after tax £10 per month. and I also wont be getting a bonus next year assuming I dont quit because of this.
So in short, no pay rise for a year, no bonus next year which means if Im still here my next bonus would be April pay packet 2010. When Iron Man 2 comes out.
Wow, fuck HBOS.
Seriously, how much fucking work I put in, and I post of video of me and friends having fun and they fuck me in the arse for all the hard work Ive put in. They can seriously go fuck themselves epicly hard.
----------
Its great for motivation. I imagine today I took 25% less calls than usual cos' just couldnt be arsed with it.
It basically means if I dont quit I can doss off for a year and not give a shit about doing well at work. Love it this is what I get for putting in so much work.
I sweat honestly 100% fuck them.

July 9, 2008.
Today was fucking awesome. I got a full-time job today. I will be a correctional officer at Integrity Corrections Center in Holden, Missouri. I will be starting at $9.50. Hoo-rah!
I also found a place in town that sells clove cigarettes. I instantly bought a pack. They're just as awesome as I remember.
I then went out to eat with my mom to celebrate my new job. Beef tips and fried potato salad!
Now, I'm watching the Cardinals game on TV.
All in all, an awesome day!
