Chapter 2 Solo: Terrance

Terrance Reynolds was having a good time exploring the College of William and Mary on their Pokemon Festival Day. He had already obtained a second Ralts, which would get him started on his career as a Pokemon Breeder. Now he was going to wander to see what else he could find.

Little did he know that he would become entangled in a web that contained the fate of the entire world...

So, where to, Conch?

[Conchizzie]

Terrance reached a crossroads. To Tucker Hall or the Physics Lab?

Wanting to relax a bit, he headed toward Tucker Hall.

[JKL]

The whole campus has been decorated for the Pokemon Festival, and Tucker Hall is no exception. However, rather than having decorations you'd typically see associated with Pokemon, there were weird coats of arms on cheap paper hanging over the three story brick building.

In front of the building there is a table, where two young women are sitting, wearing wizard hats*.

"Welcome to Hogwarts!" one of them says. "Would you like to be sorted?"




*I'd like to take the time to mention that my totally awesome hat is not a WIZARD hat, but rather a scarecrow hat. I am in no way affiliated with the organization depicted here. Even I have standards for my nerdiness.

"Umm...I may be in the wrong room...."

"Nonsense!" they cry in unison. They drag Terrance down to be sorted.

[JKL]

Knowing the people here, I wouldn't be surprised.

So, the next thing Terrance knows, he's sitting in a chair surrounded by mostly young women wearing witch hats. He soon found a beat up old wizard's hat upon his own head.

A voice suddenly came from under the chair. It shouted...

[JKL]

...HUFFLEPUFF!

There is some cheering from one section of the room.

Terrance suddenly finds himself ushered over to that section, and suddenly finds an additional full Pokeball on his belt.

In it is...



A Hufflepuff Slowpoke!

Special Ability-Hard Worker: If this Pokemon gets reduced to 0 HP, RD: On a 1, Pokemon retains 1 HP.

Tackle: 2 Damage
Yawn: At the end of next turn, target opponent falls asleep.

Metronome: Random Effect.

Terrance is forced to sit through the sorting of other people as well. Take a Will Save against boredom.

Will Save failed.

You're bored as Hell.

I try to sneak out of the room unnoticed.

Do I succeed?

[JKL]

Not entirely.

A particularly ornery and possibly inebriated member of the Slytherin section sees you, and follows you out.

Slytherin wants to fight!

Ralts was my very first Pokemon. Elwood, my brother, gave it to me. I always hoped to do him proud.

Ralts, use Confusion!

BTW, are we incorporating super-effective things?)

Why, yes we are.

Alright Ralts, double up with another Confusion!

(Confusion Roll failed, but it's ko'd anyways, right?)

BLARG! Seviper is KOed. Three more Drunken Slytherins Come out. They're about to triple team you when a really dirty, twenty-something year old, smelly angry guy runs past, chasing a Lickitung, swearing loudly.

In the process, he accidentally tackles one of the Slytherins, knocking him out cold. One of the smelly guy's Pokeballs flies from his belt, and in an improbably turn of events, hits the Lickitung, catching it successfully.
"SON OF A BITCH!" the trainer swears loudly. He then turns around, seeing the young Terrance about to be attacked by the two trainers.
"Let's even things out," he says.

Special Ability-You Bastard!: If opponent's attack is going to KO a teammate, RD: On 1, the teammate grabs Lickitung and uses him as a Pokeshield: all effects of the attack are applied to Lickitung.
Held Item: Ethan's Sandwich: Automatically heals 4 points of damage when Lickitung is taken down to half health.
Lick-1 Damage, RD: If 1, paralyzes target.
Thief-1 Damage, takes any items the target is holding.
Supersonic-RD: If 1-2, confuses target.

I remember when I first met April. Casey was playin around on a walk, when he suddenly stood still. He was lovestruck. he tried to impress her, but to no avail. Finally, after Casey and I saved her from a horde of Spearow, she loved him back. Since then, the two have been inseparable. Really and truly, they were my very first friends.
