The Clash.
Everyone may think that's crazy compared to the titans on that list, but The Clash I think revolutionized music. In the wake of the 60s, when rockers were starting to live the "party" life, The Clash said, "Fuck the Lear jets. Fuck the mansions. Fuck the selling out." Rock needed a kick in the nuts. And they brought rock n' roll back to its roots: Instead of complex "concept albums" and bohemian nonsense, they preferred to just kick it. They were my favourite punk group.
Plus, they earned more longevity because they expanded from punk by adding jazz, sould, reggae, rap, etc. to their music, making them more versatile than The Ramones/Sex Pistols.

hmmmm.................. They are good but I'd prefer to see a "other" catergory.
Like No Doubt rule my life, I named my children after Evanescence and an two of the members of Abba were in my sex offenders anonymous group.

The Jimi Hendrix Experiece/Band of Gypsies.
Jimi Hendrix, one of the most influencial musicians of all time, let alone the #1 guitarist. In the Experience, Hendrix overshadows Mitch Mitchell, but Mitch is one of the top drummers of that era.
Overall, I can't think of anybody outside of Pink Floyd that comes close to the Experience in terms of creativity, and there isn't another band out there that can match their style (being that all of the genres were blended into Hendrix's crazy guitar riffs). Like much of Pink Floyd's music, it is basically in a genre of it's own. And no, despite the fact that Are You Experienced? was a great album, it cannot be compared with the sheer brilliance of Axis: Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland, even moreso.
As for Band of Gypsies, the album was another great one, despite it heading more in the Blues direction than anything.
