In all honesty, this phrase bugged me way more then the original comment. Since when am I "not normal". Phrases like this imply that there is something wrong with it (even though I know that wasn't your intent) It should have been in quotations. By saying normal, I was talking the way I picture someone who would differentiate would talk. Those aren't my opinions, but it did come off wrong. Sorry. A better, and more accurate word would have been 'the majority of people' My bad. sorry. Way I sees it, you didn't have any malicious intent behind it, so no biggie. If poor word choice was a Capital Offense, we'd've all been offed years ago. |

The way I look at it, if someone says something horrifically offensive, but they are just to stupid to know how bad it was, then it doesn't remove the hatefulness. I guess it just bugs me when people say something terrible, and then follow it up with, "Oh, I'm just kidding. Calm down, man." Starting a sentence with the words "No offense" doesn't not give you free license to say whatever you want. |

But yes, ignorance is no excuse, and "No offense" wouldn't get one off the hook. Also, having your insult caught by filters and then claiming to have meant a perfectly acceptable nonfiltered word is just insulting the intelligence of the people you're talking to. |
