The group made their way through the final part ofthe forest, with the rooftops of Pewter city in full view. Axel stopped and had a drink from his water bottle, while Terrance let surskit have a quick swim in the small stream.
Thoughts soon turned to the upcoming gym battle. Axel, though not a trainer, was intrigued nonetheless by what the Pewter Gym leader, Grant, would use.
If they were rare, he would definitely want a sketch of them, as he hadnt got a decent sketch since he started his journey. He tried to keep the image of Dixie and his Rattata under her arm out of his head, but it kept re-appearing.
Lani, on the other hand, was still distraught by the revelation that team rocket had been responsible for his families death. He wanted revenge, and was sure that by the time this journey was over, Team Rocket would have felt his precense. For the mean time, he thought, focusing on the task at hand, namely, defeating Grant, was more important.
Terrance, was watching his surskit swin happily in the water, thinking how it was blissfully unaware of the recent events. Billy..how could he turn into a Rocket grunt? Terrance wanted answers, and next time they met, he knew he would get them.
ReZoko was catching up with the events of the journey through the forest with Lani, as he went the long way round, and missed most ofthe action.
Suddenly, there was a rustling in the trees.
"Yes! A wild pokemon!" said Lani, sending out Abra.
Then, instead of a pokemon, a young girl, about 18, fell out of the treetops.
"Wha.." begun Axel, but the girl interupted him.
"Hi Guys! Whoa, that was close wasnt it?!" she said loudly, as she brushed the grass off her tights.
The group didnt say anything, as they're eyes were transfixed on the ridiculous Mouse Ears on her head, and the giant yellow shoes on her feet.
"Oh, I was watching that battle between you guys and those mean Rockets..from the treetops, of course. Thats what i do. I go where no trainer has gone before to catch my pokemon."
"Ok.." said Terrance, obviously perplexed by this girl, "are you doing the gym challenge? Cause thats where we're headed now."
"Oh yeah! I am! I think.." she said, suddenly deep in thought.
"Erm..do you want to battle?" suggested Lani.
"....YES." she announced formally," I exclusively use Mice and or/mouse pokemon and/or shrew pokemon. Soooo, how about I fight..you," pointing to Lani, "and...you!" pointing to a tree.
*silence, as she keeps pointing to the tree*
"You mean me?" said Terrance.
"..YES." she whispered, grabbing 4 pokeballs from her bag. "choose two each to go against my 4!"
